TASO is inviting higher education (HE) providers to participate in a project involving the use of institutional data to support better evaluation of the student experience.

Successful providers will contribute towards mapping the activities and outcomes for post-entry work and a practical guide to how data infrastructure can be used within and across HE providers to enable tracking and evaluation of these activities and outcomes. They will also contribute to a flagship evaluation study demonstrating ways to use HE provider data to develop Type 2 and Type 3 evidence. They will also contribute to a flagship evaluation study demonstrating ways to use HE provider data to develop Type 2 and Type 3 evidence.

This work stems from TASO’s recent projects exploring the use of institutional data in conducting research and evaluation that enables us to better understand how to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

We will support HE providers to:

  • Map common post-entry activities and their potential outcomes.
  • Create a practical guide to how data infrastructure can be used/developed within HE providers to enable tracking and use of these activities and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate ways to use institutional data to develop Type 2 (correlational) and Type 3 (causal) evidence.

The project will run from September 2023 to March 2024.
