Join us on Wednesday 13 March for an online event to promote the findings of our project which supports better evaluation of interventions designed to tackle the ethnicity degree awarding gap.
What did we do?
Following an open call in the summer, we selected six higher education (HE) providers to develop Theories of Change and evaluation plans for interventions designed to tackle the ethnicity degree awarding gap. Staffordshire University and Advance HE were jointly appointed as the independent evaluators on the project to support HE providers in developing the outputs.
The project stems from findings from last year’s report which analysed Access and Participation Plans (APPs) to understand the current landscape of interventions being delivered in the HE sector to tackle the ethnicity degree awarding gap. The report recommended that HE providers develop robust Theories of Change which clearly articulate how an intervention will lead to a reduction in the gap.
What will the event involve?
This event will:
- Introduce the project and the importance of Theory of Change and evaluation in addressing the ethnicity degree awarding gap.
- Enable you to hear from three HE providers involved in the project regarding their interventions to address the gap and key learnings from participating.
- Give you insights and recommendations from the project evaluators for implementing practice in your own institutions.
- Each Theory of Change and evaluation plan will be published to support the sector in evaluating interventions in this space.
Who should attend?
The event is open to anyone interested, however, is particularly relevant to:
- Those working on strategies and interventions to tackle ethnicity degree awarding gaps.
- Anyone wanting to learn more about Theory of Change and evaluation.
