Post-entry MOAT

The post-entry MOAT (Mapping Outcomes and Activities Tool) is used to assist you in the planning and evaluation of activities designed to support student success.

It provides a framework to describe your post-entry student support activities, in terms of their intended beneficiaries, outcomes (and suggested measures), their type and sub-type, how they are delivered and, if applicable, how they map on to the Equality of Opportunities Risk Register.

The visual overview provides an easy-to-read one-page outline of the post-entry MOAT’s structure. Detailed definitions, outcome measures and a recording template can be found in the spreadsheet.

Intervention-recording worksheet

To complement the Post-Entry MOAT we are also providing an Intervention-recording worksheet that enables providers to record their student-support interventions in line with the MOAT. It also allows providers to obtain an overview of the outcomes and student groups that their activities are targeting.

HEAT

If you are a Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) member, you can record your student-support interventions in line with the MOAT on the HEAT system. HEAT is developing reporting tools to allow members to monitor and evaluate their post-entry activity and student data. Please contact HEAT for more information.

EMWPREP

If you are a East Midlands Widening Participation Research and Evaluation Partnership (EMWPREP) partner, and wish to record your post-entry activity and student data in line with the MOAT on the EMWPREP Database, please contact the EMWPREP team for more information.
