The deadline for this has now passed.
TASO is seeking to commission a supplier to develop a typology which maps the different approaches and interventions being undertaken by higher education (HE) providers to reduce the race degree awarding gap. The project will enable us to understand:
- The current landscape in terms of approaches to closing the race degree awarding gap;
- Approaches to evaluation, including whether there is a Theory of Change to link interventions with reducing the degree awarding gap, the extent to which interventions have been evaluated, and the quality of this evaluation.
As part of the project, TASO expects the commissioned supplier to:
- Conduct thorough desk-based research on the different approaches to tackling the race degree awarding gap within HE providers, including via Access and Participation Plans (APPs) and submissions to the Race Equality Charter.
- Conduct a consultation with a wide-range of HE providers to further understand approaches to reducing the race degree awarding gap, how approaches are being evaluated, and any barriers HE providers (and staff) may face in engaging with this work.
- Consider individual interventions which make up broader institutional approaches, and strategic approaches versus grassroot initiatives.
