TASO to partner with HEAT on new higher education evaluation library

The library, funded by Office for Students, will be developed by HEAT in collaboration with TASO.

Following on from our previous announcement that we will be establishing a new evidence and evaluation library, TASO is pleased to announce that we will be working with HEAT to deliver the higher education evaluation library (HEEL). This repository will enhance our understanding of the sector’s current evaluation practices, and will enable providers to learn from one another in pursuit of improving outcomes for students.

HEAT have many years of experience in supporting the sector and understanding how users interact with higher education data and evaluation, as well as expertise and knowledge in creating and managing databases.

Whilst HEAT’s existing tracker is limited to members, the HEEL will be freely accessible to all higher education providers, as well as to third sector and other organisations, for viewing and submitting evaluations.

TASO and HEAT will be running sector consultation on the HEEL over the spring. The consultation will inform the specification of the library, inclusion criteria and the user experience. We expect the library to be launched in December 2025, in line with HEAT’s Winter update.
