Join us on 13 November (10:00–16:00) for an online training session on implementation and process evaluation, delivered as part of our Autumn Evaluation Essentials series.
Implementation and process evaluation (IPE) examines how an intervention is put into practice, how it works to achieve its intended outcomes, and the factors that influence these processes. While impact evaluation helps us find out what works, implementation and process evaluation can tell us why or how an intervention does or does not work, and for whom.
During this session, you will learn about key concepts:
- The core principles of an implementation and process evaluation and its relevance to evaluating higher education interventions
- How to plan and run a robust implementation and process evaluation, including the steps required and best practice for data collection and reporting
- How to use findings from implementation and process evaluations to inform and improve practice
- Examples of real-world implementation and process evaluations from the higher education sector, showing how they have been run in practice
The session will include a mix of presentations, activities, and group discussions, giving attendees the opportunity to interact with other practitioners and evaluators in the sector and learn from each other. By the end of this training, you will have considered how key steps of the implementation and process evaluation apply to your context.
