Today, TASO has launched its Technical Guide (an expansion on the data visualisation style guide) to help the sector produce engaging charts and make code more readable and shareable. We built this resource to empower TASO staff, partners and the broader higher education sector with the skills to create engaging charts and enhance code readability and shareability.
What’s inside the guide?
- The data visualisation style guide: Offers clear, actionable guidelines for creating impactful charts with your preferred data visualisation tools, such as Excel, R, or Tableau.
- Coding good practice: Provides guidelines, tips and resources for making your code more accessible, shareable, and reliable.
In pursuit of a more interactive and engaging learning experience, we’ve evolved the guide from a PDF to an interactive web-based resource. Created with Quarto and hosted through GitHub, this format not only creates a more engaging experience but also allows for continuous updates. This ensures access to the most current advice on data visualisation and coding techniques.
Moreover, our commitment to transparency and collaborative learning is underscored by sharing all the code used to construct the guide on our GitHub page, where you can contribute and share your thoughts.
