The Office for Students has appointed TASO to lead a consortium to help higher education providers (HEPs) identify and make use of effective practice in supporting student mental health. This work will lead to the creation of a digital repository of information and resources which the sector can access and apply to improve the efficacy of their mental health practices.

TASO will be the lead partner on the project, with further expertise being provided by the other consortium partners, What Works Wellbeing, SMaRteN, Student Minds and AMOSSHE.

What have we done?

We developed and promoted the Student Mental Health Evidence Hub, a digital hub that provides information and guidance which the HE sector can apply to improve the efficacy of their mental health practices.

The delivery of this project involved:

  • Synthesising evidence of research and evaluation activity designed to support improvements in student mental health, drawing on two main sources; academic and research literature and projects delivered by HEPs.
  • Developing the digital resources hub. Our aim is for all HEPs to engage with this platform, adopting the published good practice, creating innovative interventions, evaluating them, and sharing that information with the rest of the sector.

The project builds upon TASO’s existing work around student mental health. Read more about our work in this area.
