About TASO
Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) is an affiliate What Works Centre, and part of the UK Government’s What Works Network. Our vision is that everyone has the opportunity to access, succeed and thrive in higher education. Our mission is to close equality gaps in higher education by building evidence on what works and by driving the use of evidence-informed practice.
TASO is an independent hub for the higher education sector, providing evidence and resources to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access, succeed and thrive in higher education. To eliminate equality gaps, we need to know what works to support students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds and we need to equip higher education providers to act on this knowledge.
The role
Interns at TASO would work with our Research and Evaluation team to deliver a variety of projects. This might include supporting our work on our commissioned evaluation projects, evidence toolkit, data insights and scoping new projects. Interns will have clear objectives and line management support, while also interacting with the whole TASO team. TASO is committed to ensuring that the internship experience would both benefit us as an organisation, as well as benefiting interns who work with us.
We are particularly interested in supporting candidates who are undertaking or have completed a course that involves economic or social research and/or considering a career in this area.
We welcome applications from all individuals and are especially keen to hear from candidates who would be considered beneficiaries of TASO’s work. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce and through this internship we aim to support individuals to learn and build their skills in research environments for social good. With this in mind we are flexible as to working patterns and are happy to hear from people who are interested in part time or full time work.
Examples of the tasks you may undertake:
- Provide support to the Research and Evaluation team
- Contribute to the administration and secretariat for a number of advisory panels formed of external stakeholders.
