The two days will be packed with interactive sessions run by experts who will guide you through best practice approaches to evaluation. Whether you’re new to evaluation, or a seasoned practitioner, the conference will have something for you.

You will learn about developing theories of change, conducting quasi-experimental studies in higher education, evaluating attainment-raising interventions and much more. The conference will equip you with new skills for designing effective evaluations and a deeper understanding of Type 3 – causal evidence.

The Office for Students’ revised approach to regulating equality of opportunity in higher education places a greater emphasis on evaluation. This conference will help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to enhance your evaluation plans.

  • Practitioners, managers or heads of responsible for developing Access and Participation Plans (APPs) or evaluations for widening participation, student success or progression programmes
  • Evaluators working in higher education
  • Third-sector representatives with an interest in best practice evaluation methods

  • Workshop sessions will be available for the following groups:
  • Beginners – those with a basic knowledge of evaluation in higher education
  • Intermediate/advanced – those with more experience or knowledge of evaluation in higher education but looking to develop their skills, particularly on Type 3 evaluation
